Dayne does enough to clinch the series
Dayne Kingshott claimed his sixth win in the 2025-26 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series at Kalgoorlie International Speedway on Saturday night – and in doing so, has enough points to clinch the overall series championship that wraps up at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.
Kingshott has 3140 points, 120 clear of arch rival and former two-time series champion Callum Williamson who was third on Saturday night and has 3020 points.
Second on Saturday night was Kaiden Manders who is third in the series points on 2996.
Heading into the Maddington Toyota Grand Final next weekend, Kingshott is in the box seat.
Looking at his worst-case scenario and should he not start the A main, he will only receive 50 points, taking him to 3190 points – and even if Williamson wins the final and claims 150 points, the maximum he can round out the season with is 3170 points.
Given Krikke Motorsport’s professionalism this year, a DNS seems highly unlikely.
The KMS hotrod has been in the top five on 15 occasions and finished in the top 10 in all but one occasion – an impressive effort.
While Williamson will be looking to close the gap as much as he can, he also faces a challenge for second overall from Manders.
Williamson has one feature race win to his credit this year, while Manders has three and is only 24 points behind Williamson.
Manders and the Dan Golding Racing W71 could do this if they finish 13 spots better than Williamson in the final race of the season, where 26 cars have nominated.
There are other spots that could still change in the top 10.
Only two points separates sixth-placed Kris Coyle and seventh-placed Taylor Milling.
And only four points separates eight-placed Jack Williamson and ninth-placed Jaydee Dack, with Jason Pryde, who is 10th, only 20 points behind Dack as well.
